Dear Neighbors,
My name is Deirdre Brown, and I am a proud third-generation Washingtonian, parent, housing advocate, and small business owner.
My story is deeply rooted here in the District. I have had the privilege of serving my neighbors as ANC Commissioner for 3F04, and today I am honored to chair the Ward 3 Democratic Committee while also serving as a voting member of the DC Democratic State Committee.

Civic engagement and community leadership have always been at the heart of my work. I currently co-chair the Legislative Committee of the Metropolitan Women’s Democratic Club, serve as a voting member of the Federation of Democratic Women, and sit on the PLE Board for PAVE DC, where I advocate for equitable education and strong parent voices.
I also serve as Vice Chair of the Northwest Opportunity Partners Community Development Corporation, Vice President of the Black Business Taskforce, and am an active member of both the Committee of 100 and the Eleanor Holmes Norton Legacy Fund. Recently, I chaired the Vote NO on Initiative 83 PAC, where I worked with residents across the city to protect fair governance in our community.

I earned my Juris Doctor from UDC’s David A. Clarke School of Law and am proud to be an alumna of EMERGE America, where I joined a network of women working to bring integrity and lived experience into public service.
As a mother of five, I have raised my family right here in the District and have seen firsthand the importance of policies that strengthen our neighborhoods, support families, and keep our city affordable for generations to come. I am proud to call the Palisades home and to continue working for the future of the community that shaped me.

I am running for D.C.’s Delegate to the U.S. House of Representatives because I believe our city deserves a relentless advocate who will fight for us every day, from our blocks to the Hill. It has been more than a decade since D.C. residents have had their rightful voice and vote on the House Floor, and that must change.
I will fight to defend and expand D.C.’s autonomy, build strong coalitions in Congress, and secure the federal resources our residents deserve. From statehood to safety to opportunity, I will stand up for Washingtonians and never stop pushing for progress. I hope to earn your vote in the June 2026 Primary.
In Solidarity,
Deirdre Brown
